Land Taxation: a policy for the future?

The aim of this one day symposium is to examine what policy makers today can learn from previous attempts to implement land taxation. Themes to be addressed include:

  • the benefits and problems of taxing the land
  • land taxation as a possible solution to the crisis in the housing market
  • land taxation and Local Government finance
  • current plans for land taxation
  • land taxation and the real estate market
